Pensioner hit by Skoda Octavia near police station in Maidstone's Sutton Road

A pensioner was taken to hospital with head and chest injuries after he was hit by a car in Maidstone.

The man, who police believe to be in his 70s, was hit by a grey Skoda Octavia in Sutton Road at 6.40pm yesterday.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Pembury Hospital, where he was kept overnight.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Maidstone Hospital.

A road closure was enforced from between the junctions of Grove Road and Queen Elizabeth Square.

No arrests have been made.
