A MAN in his 30s was robbed of his mobile phone and cash as he walked along Sittingbourne Road at Maidstone.

Detectives say the incident happened as the victim was walking towards Vinters Park, late on April 1.

Police spokeswoman Gianna Pollero said: "He was grabbed from behind and told to hand over his money and phone by the offender who then removed these items from the victim’s pockets and ran away.

"It is believed there may have been people driving along the road at the time and we would like to hear from anyone with information about the incident. The victim was not injured during the incident."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Pat Holmes on 01622 604280, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – this call is free and confidential.
