A 500-year-old pub has joined the 21st century by becoming a PokéStop.

Players of the game Pokémon Go can now collect items including eggs, PokéBalls and potions at The Ringlestone

Inn in Harrietsham.

Its status as a PokéStop also means there are lots of Pokémon in area to be caught.

Christina Warren, 53, is the pub’s landlady and jumped at the opportunity to become a hub for players of the game, which has proved popular across the county since its release last week.

She said: “We thought it would be quite a good idea. We are the only ones around here that do it.

“I’m really shocked that we actually are a PokéStop. We’re quite lucky I suppose.”

The Ringlestone Inn is yet to see any visitors come specifically for the PokéStop, however Ms Warren and Kevin De Young, with whom she runs the pub, have been testing out the game and caught a number of Pokémon.

She’s keen to promote the PokéStop as a selling point to attract new clientele, and added: “Come in and catch a couple of Pokémon and enjoy the game and the pub.”
