Kent Police have launched an appeal after a Ford Ka was torched on a driveway in Crismill Road, Bearsted

Kent Police are appealing for information after a car was allegedly torched on a driveway in Bearsted.

Officers on patrol in the village spotted the flaming Ford Ka on Crismill Lane in the early hours of last Thursday (November 6).

The car was destroyed in the blaze which also damaged a Range Rover parked nearby.

Two fire engines arrived at the scene after being called by police officers at 1.40am. They extinguished the vehicle before leaving at 2.09am.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Officers spotted the car on fire on the driveway of a property in Crismill Lane, Bearsted, at about 1.30am.

“This is being dealt with as a suspected arson.”

The owners were not present at the time of the incident but have since been informed.
