A 32-year-old man has died and a 19-year-old woman is in hospital after a crash on the M20 this morning (Sunday).

Police were called to the M20 coastbound between junction 8 (Hollingbourne) and junction 9 (Ashford) at around 7.15am.

It is believed one vehicle was involved in the incident.

The 19-year-old woman was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with a minor head injury.

Both carriageways have now been reopened following earlier closures.
