Police want to track down a man in his 60s or 70s after he helped them arrest a man.

The unknown man helped detain a suspect that ran away from police officers in Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone, six months ago.

Officers had a warrant to arrest the defendant but he ran towards the High Level Bridge where he was stopped and arrested with the additional charge of assaulting a police officer.

The arrest was made on Saturday, August 30 and the man who helped the police was wearing glasses and a blue short-sleeved polo shirt.

Police Constable Lee Cumberland from Kent Police said: “We appreciate that this incident was some six months ago, but I’m confident that the man involved will remember helping us.
