Police have been called after a group of travellers set up in a council car park.

Officers were called after nine caravans arrived in Vinters Road at 7.50pm on Tuesday.

The matter has been referred to landowners Maidstone Borough Council, who delivered an enforcement notice requesting them to leave by 4pm last Friday.

They left yesterday, five days after being asked to leave.
