Two officers injured after M20 crash injured near Maidstone and Ashford

Two police officers have been injured and two men have been arrested after a crash this morning.

Part of the M20 was closed for around five hours this morning after a collision involving two cars.

The incident on the London-bound carriageway between junction 9 for Ashford and junction 8 for Leeds/Maidstone services involved a police vehicle and a car.

Officers were responding to an emergency call

One officer sustained minor injuries and the other suffered a leg injury. Both were taken to hospital.

They were responding to an emergency call at the time of the crash.

Three ambulances and two paramedic cars were at the scene.

Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving and drug offences and remain in custody.

The road reopened just before 7am.
