Speed checks set up by police in East Farleigh and Loose in response to concerns by residents did not find anyone speeding.

Neighbourhood officers in Maidstone staged the checks in Linton Road, Loose, and Lower Road, East Farleigh, on Monday and Tuesday to find out what speed vehicles were travelling at.

All were travelling within the speed limits for the areas.

Further checks are planned around Maidstone in the next few weeks.

Sgt Nigel Douglas said: "We want to both ensure that motorists aren’t travelling excessively over the speed limit and also reduce the risk of collisions taking place.

"The locations for these checks have been a mixture of feedback from members of the public, and also in locations where collisions have previously occurred. We will be conducting more checks across Maidstone and the surrounding villages in the coming weeks and drivers who are driving dangerously will risk be summoned to appear before court."
