A Kent Police officer will appear in court accused of dangerous driving after a marked police car smashed into a number of parked vehicles, leaving one bystander with a broken collar bone.

PC Mark Sloane will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday having been charged in relation to the accident in Courtenay Road, Maidstone, on March 1 last year.

The force made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and an investigation was launched.
