Two professional pranksters took to Maidstone Leisure Centre’s swimming pool during their latest stunt for an after hours dip.

Lee Marshall, aka Disco Boy, and Daniel Jarvis hid from staff at Mote Park until the coast was clear before filming their late-night escapade on Sunday, September 18.

The pair leapt from diving boards and took advantage of the empty swimming pools until they triggered an alarm and staff brought their evening to an end.

He said: “We thought Maidstone Leisure Centre has a good swimming pool so we thought let’s just drive up there and try getting in.

“We hid in a room down near the jungle gym. We were in there for at least an hour and a half and we had to talk really quietly because three of them were stood outside the door.”

Daniel, from Gravesend, and Lee, from Sturry, were collared by three members of staff who called the police as soon as they became aware of the intruders.

Daniel, who is also enrolled in a media studies degree, said: “We managed to set the infrared alarm off. Your adrenaline starts running when you get there but as soon as you jump in the pool that first time it goes away.

“We saw the staff come in and they said we were trespassing and then rang the police.

“We left as soon as the police came and we ended up going to Topps pizza. When we were in there we saw the police and they parked right next to us.”

James Reynolds, manager of Maidstone Leisure Centre, said: “This kind of mindless behaviour is utterly irresponsible and shows complete disrespect for our staff who were seeking to safely close the pool.

"It has no place at our community facility and will not be tolerated. We have provided details of the incident to the police.”
