A prison worker is facing sentence after admitting having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

Grace Miles, of Boxley Road, Penenden Heath, Maidstone, entered guilty pleas when she appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.

The 24-year-old will be sentenced on July 11 for two offences of misconduct in public office at Maidstone Prison between August 1 and November 20 last year.

They involve that while working as an “industries officer” she “wilfully misconducted herself” by forming an inappropriate relationship with a prisoner.

The charges further state that Miles failed to report that a prisoner had a mobile phone and that she communicated with him on it.
