Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses after a woman had her purse stolen having been barged to the floor while Christmas shopping in Maidstone.

The victim, aged in her 40s, was in The Mall shopping centre on December 12 when at around 12pm, a stranger bumped into her, causing the woman to fall to the floor and to drop her handbag.

The suspect is said to have picked up the handbag and handed it back to the victim, asking her if she was okay.
