Police have launched a renewed appeal after a father-of-eight died in a collision on Sunday morning.

Kevin Almond, 55, died after he crashed his black Yamaha bike on the A20 at Hollingbourne at 9.45am.

Kent Police are appealing to the driver of a red Mercedes to come forward after the vehicle was seen circling the location of the accident before coming back and paying close attention to the aftermath without calling the emergency services.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the smash on the approach to the roundabout for junction 8 of the M20 but were unable to revive Mr Almond.

The sci-fi fan from Herne Bay ran Nutcutters barbers in the town for 32 years and was famed for his charity work.

Upon hearing the tragic news wife Kay wrote: "Thank you everyone for all your kind words. Kev was and always will be my big cuddly bear, tough on the outside but a big softy underneath.

"I will miss him every second of every day and I will be forever broken."

Following the crash, the A20 was closed at the M20 junction 8 roundabout and traffic was diverted via the overpass.
