A project is being launched to clean up a site of special scientific interest.

The River Beult, a tributary of the River Medway which runs through Headcorn, Yalding and Hunton, earned its status for its insects and clay river plants.

A presentation evening at Linton village hall on Thursday, January 24 is a chance for visitors to learn more about the project.

It’s led by Medway Valley Countryside Partnership and the Environment Agency to raise awareness of the unhealthy state of the river and its tributaries.

Guest speakers include environmental groups such as the Thames River Trust.

As well as discussing potential projects with the organisers, visitors can enjoy a bite to eat and a glass of wine.

The presentation in Linton Hill starts at 7pm and places are limited.
