A pedestrian is reported to have been seriously injured after being hit by an unspecified vehicle near Mereworth.

Police closed Seven Mile Lane near Mereworth as a result of the accident, which happened at around 6.20pm.

A spokesman said: "Officers are currently at the scene along with Secamb and one person is reported to have suffered serious injuries.

"A road closure is in place at the Wheelbarrow Roundabout."
