POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at the Argos store in London Road, Maidstone.

It happened while staff were opening the store on Sunday. Two black men wearing balaclavas ran up to the employees, forced them inside and demanded they hand over money from the safe.

It is thought they escaped with a large quantity of cash. The offenders are described, being dressed in black tracksuits, wearing leather gloves, in their mid 20s.

Two vehicles are believed to have been used in connection with the robbery, a grey BMW 1 series and a white van.

Anyone with any information is urged to telephone police in Mid Kent on 01622 604180 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – this call is free and confidential.
