A 12-year-old schoolboy was forced to hand over his mobile phone when he was approached by two teenagers.

The incident happened as the victim, a pupil at Maidstone's St Simon Stock school, walked back from rugby practice through the Oakwood Park complex towards the exit.

Gianna Pollero, police media and communications officer for the Mid-Kent area, said: "He was grabbed from behind by one teenage boy who demanded he hand over his mobile phone. The offender was accompanied by another teenage boy.

"The victim handed over his phone and a small amount of loose change before the offenders ran off. He was not injured."
