Second fire in an hour breaks out in Maidstone town centre

A town centre has been hit by two fires in the space of an hour this morning.

The first blaze in Maidstone came in Upper Stone Street where a blaze started at an abandoned pub just after 5am.

Then, at 5.40am, firefighters were called to an electrical fire in an outbuilding in Mote Road.

One fire engine and was sent to the scene and the fire was out just after 7am.

There were no reported injuries in either blaze and the cause of the earlier blaze is not currently known.
