A man was cut from his car this morning following a serious crash in Maidstone.

A car smashed into a telegraph pole at the top of Farleigh Hill, Tovil, just before 7.30am.

It has forced Kent Police to close the road in both directions from the junction with Burial Ground Lane, with emergency services still working at the scene.

Paramedics and the fire service also attended, with a man being treated for non-life threatening injuries before being taken to Tunbridge Wells hospital with neck pain.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove him from the vehicle.
