Police, paramedics and firefighters called to a car crash in Warmlake Road, Chart Sutton

Three teenage girls were injured following a serious crash in a village outside Maidstone.

Two fire engines, several ambulances, police and a Hazardous Area Response Team were called to the scene, in Warmlake Road, Chart Sutton, at around 3pm.

The collision involved two cars.

Firefighters cut the roof off one of the vehicles, which was carrying four teenage girls, to release three passengers which were trapped in the back.

They were put on spinal boards before each being transported to a waiting ambulance.

The road was closed and privacy screens held up while paramedics treated the casualties, but it was not thought that any of the injuries sustained were life-threatening.

However, it is understood that one of the injured girls was taken to Kings College Hospital in London in a serious condition.

The emergency services left the scene at around 5pm.
