Shark needs a new home

Could you adopt a shark?

Leah and Richard Jackson, of Felderland Close, Park Wood, rescued a black shark four years ago, but it has now outgrown its four-foot tank and needs to be urgently relocated, along with a 14in pleco and a 4in gourami.

The fish, simply named Black Shark, has already grown to 17in and can grow up to two feet.

Mum-of-three Mrs Jackson, 30, said: “The tank is falling apart and the last thing I want is 150 litres of water gushing out into my lounge. I’m sad to see the fish go, especially the black shark as it’s such a beautiful creature, but there’s no way I could get a bigger tank.”

Another person who will miss the aquarium is son Josh, six. The couple also have daughters Charley five, and two-year-old Kirsty.

Mrs Jackson, who also has two cats, two gerbils and five rabbits, has contacted numerous pet shops, wildlife parks, fish societies and zoos, in hope of finding the fish a new home, but without luck.

The ideal keeper would have experience with tropical species and a tank which is bigger than four foot.
