Maidstone: Arrests after 'shop' allegedly selling stolen goods uncovered in Wheeler Street

A man has been charged and two more arrested after police uncovered a shop believed to be selling stolen goods in Maidstone.

Daniel Nicholson, 30 and of Peel Street is due in court accused of theft and shoplifting after the premises in Wheeler Street was raided on Monday.

A 57-year-old man has been released pending further enquiries and a further man has been released without charge.

Nicholson has been bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 26.

Police conducted a search at a premise and seized around 200 bottles of alcohol, electrical items and large quantities of fresh meat.

An investigation is ongoing into the theft and reselling of items, believed to have been stolen from local businesses.
