Slow moving traffic on A249 Sittingbourne Road into Maidstone this morning following earlier road traffic collision

There is slow moving traffic on a busy route this morning following an earlier collision.

The Maidstone-bound lane of the A249 Sittingbourne Road was blocked just after 7.30am.

Kent Police were called to the scene of the crash between an Isuzu truck and a Mini.

There was debris on the road and traffic was queuing to go round the incident.

The crash happened on the stretch of the A249 between the junctions for Tudor Avenue and Hatherall Road.

Paramedics were also called to the scene, and one person was taken to Maidstone Hospital for further checks, but is not believed to have been seriously hurt.

The incident was cleared at 8.30am, but residual traffic remained.
