A WOMAN had a purse containing several hundred pounds in cash taken from a phone kiosk on Saturday.

The theft took place outside a fast food restaurant in Week Street, Maidstone, at around 1.30pm.

The 41-year-old woman went to use a phone kiosk, but left to use another due to noise. She then realised she had left the purse in the first kiosk, however on returning found it had gone.

The purse was black and also contained bank cards.
