Police are warning the public to be extra vigilant after a stranger approached a five-year-old child during an after-school club.

A woman, who was unknown to staff at Coxheath Primary School, in Stockett Lane, is said to have approached a child at the school premises at around 3.20pm on Friday, September 29.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Whilst no offences have been disclosed and there is currently no evidence to suggest the woman had any sinister intentions towards children at the school, Kent Police would always encourage members of the public to remain vigilant.

Police are advising parents to speak to their children about stranger danger.

"We would also encourage parents to speak to their children to make sure they are aware of the potential risks associated with talking to strangers."
