A group of students are appealing to people in Maidstone to back their online petition to save a university campus.

The University College for the Creative Arts is considering moving out of Oakwood Park, in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, as part of its plans for a £75 million campus in Kent.

Photography and Media Art student Rebecca Andrews, 23, said: “There is a lot of concern that courses will be dropped in the future if the closure goes ahead.

“It feels like we are being thrown out into the unknown.”

A spokesman for the college said: “Maidstone was identified for closure for many reasons: marketing data, falling recruitment, the quality of the building, and the limited development potential of the local environment."
