A shed fire in Barming over the weekend could have been caused by the sunny weather, firefighters say.

Crews in two fire engines were called to Abingdon Road at 6.30pm yesterday evening and spent ten minutes putting out the blaze, which had begun to spread to two neighbouring garages.

It is thought to have started due to sunlight streaming through the window, which ignited some newspapers.

The shed was described as "well alight" when firefighters arrived but it is not known how much damage was caused.
