Suspected burglar caught after police deploy stinger on Boxley Road, Maidstone

A suspected burglar has been caught after police used a stinger to stop his car in Maidstone.

Officers found the vehicle wanted in connection with a burglary in the area at around 10.15 last night.

The car, a Ford Ka, made off as police approached, but following a pursuit was brought to stop in Boxley Road.

Kent Police Roads tweeted this picture of the stopped car.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody.

The burglary in question was reported on Thursday, February 2 in Greenway Forstall, Hollingbourne.

The victim reported an outbuilding had been broken into, but it remains unclear whether any items were stolen.
