Kent Police and Home Office arrest two suspected illegal immigrants from Eritrea in Ashford Road, Maidstone, close to the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel

Two suspected illegal immigrants were discovered in Maidstone this morning.

The men, aged 20 and 24, are both from Eritrea and were arrested at about 7.30am on suspicion of immigration offences in the Ashford Road, close to the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel.

At the time of going to print the men were in custody and awaiting questioning by officers from the Home Office.

A Home Office spokesman said: “We work closely with police to tackle illegal immigration. Where someone is found to have no legal right to remain in the UK we will take action to remove them.”
