Teacher's murder: suspect in dock

LOUISE EVANS: died of stab wounds

A 48-year-old man accused of murdering a teacher in a prison car park appeared at Maidstone Crown Court.

Keith Prest, of no fixed home, is alleged to have killed Louise Evans, 48, at East Sutton Park open prison, near Maidstone, on September 12.

Miss Evans, from Hothfield, near Ashford, was found with fatal stab wounds. She worked as a literacy teacher at the prison.

Judge Andrew Patience, QC, on Friday remanded Prest in custody until December 7, when he is expected to enter a plea to the charge.
