A teenage boy was arrested over hacking allegations following an early morning raid on a home in Shepway.

The 15-year-old suspect was detained in Worcester Road by officers from the Metropolitan Police's Cyber Crime Unit under section 1 of The Computer Misuse Act 1990.

That part of the Act deals with unauthorised access to computer material and the allegation was made in June.

Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council has suffered more cyber security breaches than any other town hall in the country.

The schoolboy was taken into custody following the raid at 8am last Thursday and later bailed until a date in January.

His computer equipment was seized and has not yet been returned.
