The charity has seen a rise in the number of farm animals coming into its care in recent months, with pigs and goats among the guests of the animal charity.

Dr Marc Cooper said: "We know that some people assume we just re-home cats and dogs but that is far from the case - we actually have lots of farm animals that are rescued by our inspectors that end up coming into the care of our fantastic animal centres.

"But farm animals often have different needs to pets, so if you are considering giving one a home, it’s important to consider whether you have the time, resources and money they need."

Paul and Barry - named after the famous comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers - can be re-homed separately or together. Both can be a little shy and are initially wary of people, but soon come around.

They would benefit from lots of enrichment to keep them busy such as hanging vegetables, a box of soil for dust-bathing and perches to sit on and watch the world go by.
