A toddler has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a smash near Maidstone.

Officers were called to reports of crash involving one vehicle in Chart Hill Road, Chart Sutton, just before 10.30am.

The road was closed in both directions throughout the morning as a result of the accident near Forge Lane.

A police spokesman said: "Officers are currently at the scene whilst recovery is arranged and a toddler has been taken to a local hospital as a precaution."

South East Coast Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
