Tonbridge Angels boss Tommy Warrilow proving popular despite reduced budget

Tommy Warrilow isn't ruling out adding to his Tonbridge squad if funds become available.

However, with a reduced playing budget, the signing of George Purcell from Dover looks set to be his only business, but his phone is still ringing with calls from players wanting to sign for the club.

Warrilow said: "I have had about 10 players sounding me out, boys who played against us last season and liked the way we did things.

"It’s all been done by word of mouth, so we must be doing something right."

Warrilow believes that all the four players he has released will have no trouble finding new clubs. Jon Main, the Olorunda brothers, Ade and Tim, and Joe Benjamin have all been the subject of enquires from managers eager to talk to the players. Main is believed to be in talks about a possible move elsewhere after an injury-ravaged season.

Warrilow has confirmed another pre-season friendly against Dartford on August 4.

The Scott Gooding testimonial against Crystal Palace, postponed in April because of a waterlogged pitch, is set to be rearranged for next season.
