Tommy Warrilow says he won’t get carried away reflecting on his team’s position in the Ryman League Premier Division, because the only thing that matters is the number of points they have.

Weather-permitting, Angels will travel to face Maidstone at Homelands on Saturday sitting 10th in the standings, but well in the chase for promotion.

Warrilow (pictured) said: “Whoever you are you can’t allow yourself to get a false sense of security when you look at the table. It is not about the position you are in, only about the points you have.

“The league is so tight. Teams can go on a three, four or five- match winning run and suddenly you are right up there.”

He added: “It’s about us on Saturday. We want to win to stay in contention and we are more than capable of doing that. We are only 10 points behind the leaders if we can win our game in hand. We are in a good position. We want to put a run together but it’s important not to get beaten.”

Warrilow said he was unlikely to make any changes for the trip to Homelands.
