Maidstone: traffic lights on Romney Place out after car crash outside Sainsbury's

Drivers on their commute home are experiencing delays this evening after several accidents and broken down vehicles.

Earlier this afternoon traffic lights on Romney Place on the junction with A249 Wat Tyler Way, outside Sainsbury's were left broken after a car crashed into them.

Two ambulances are on the scene treating one patient suffering from chest pains. Kent Police were also called. The seriousness of the injuries are not yet clear.

One lane of the A229 Bishops Way eastbound in Maidstone has been blocked by a broken down van at the Mill Street junction and Elsewhere at the junction 7 exit sliproad on the A249 a lane has been blocked by a broken down car causing severe delays.

The A20 London Road, Aylesford has been left partially blocked after a car and a lorry collided earlier this evening at the Coldharbour Lane junction.
