Vehicle fire on M20 at junction 7 Maidstone A249

Traffic is slow moving after an earlier vehicle fire on the M20.

Highways England says traffic at junction 7 for Maidstone is delayed after the fire broke out on the hard shoulder heading to London.

Queues are currently stretching back to junction 8 for the A20.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 11am to a report of a vehicle on fire at junction 7 of the M20.

"Officers attended the scene to assist Kent Fire and Rescue Service on the Londonbound carriageway, which was closed for a short time.

"The road is now reopen."
