Commuters are warned of delays due to emergency works to fix a gas leak.

Temporary traffic lights were put in place on the A249 Sittingbourne Road near Windsor Close at around 5pm.

SGN engineers are carrying out repairs and Kent Highways are advising drivers to allow extra time for their journeys.

"All being well, this work will be carried out within the next few days and the road will be reopened as usual on Thursday evening.

"We’d like to apologise to local residents and motorists for any inconvenience caused."
