There is disruption on a busy commuter line this morning due to a train fault.

Trains between Ashford International and London Victoria have been delayed after a train developed an issue near Lenham.

Services on the Maidstone East line were affected as early as 6.30am, with some journeys being delayed by up to 25 minutes.

A spokesperson for Southeastern confirmed that a fault on the 06.24 between Ashford International and Blackfriars meant that the train lost 9 minutes at Charing.

It later lost 15 minutes at Lenham.

This issue, coupled with signal problems across the whole network, meant many trains were delayed this morning.

Southeastern has confirmed it is working to restore the network to time, and there should not be further delays.
