NEIGHBOURHOOD police officers seized alcohol and took a large number of under-age drinkers home to their parents after an incident in Maidstone.

Two officers, PCs Trevor Bonett and Dave Jeeves, along with two special constables, were initially called to Vinters Park, following information about a crowd of underage drinkers in a nature reserve.

When they arrived they found evidence of drinking in the area and a number of youths were stopped and advised.

Later the same evening, police received a further report regarding a crowd of youths drinking at the Vinters Park shopping parade.

The same officers attended, along with a further two constables, and rounded up 13 teenagers. All were taken back home to their parents and warned about their behaviour.

About 30 bottles of beer and a further five cans of alcohol were seized from the group. One teenager received a public order warning during the incident.

All those taken home were aged between 15 and 17.
