A Maidstone cyclist is calling for drivers to be more careful when overtaking bikes after capturing the moment a truck nearly crashed head-on with a car on a blind bend.

The footage was shot by Ahmed Nuamen, who was riding along Dean Street during this morning's rush-hour.

The 29-year-old company founder was travelling from his home in East Farleigh to work in Maidstone town centre when he nearly fell victim to the near-miss.

His helmet camera captured the moment a truck overtook him on a narrow country lane, pulling out into the path of an oncoming car.

The truck then pulls in dangerously close to the cyclist.

Mr Nuamen said: "I thought I would stick it on YouTube and shame them.

"It is important people see the video and take notice because it is usually the cyclist that gets killed, not the driver."
