The big story this week is in our Maidstone edition is a spate of bag thefts in the County Town. So far, 59 people have been targeted.

We also have news about a teenager who is recovering in hospital after being hit over the head with an iron bar on a school playing field.

We spent some time with shoppers at Woolies, who turned out in their hundreds to grab some bargains in the closing down sale, and there’s also an update on the hunt for a hit-and-run killer.

There’s the latest on the sale of Maidstone United, and pictures galore from fesitve events.

We also have more on the growing opposition to Maidstone council’s plans to introduce charges for residents’ parking.

In our Malling edition, our lead story is about an 18-year-old who has been told he can’t keep his outdoor NHS wheelchair because his eyesight isn’t good enough, and in our Weald edition, read about the village school which has been without proper heating for six weeks.
