Jackie Hurn, 48, is alleged to have knifed Nigel Watson in the back.

Mr Watson, also 48, was airlifted to London's Kings College Hospital following the altercation in Hayle Road.

Jackie Hurn will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court

Maidstone Magistrates' Court heard this morning from Toby Borrough, defending, who said Hurn had acted in self-defence against a man with a history of domestic violence.

She entered no plea and was remanded in custody for her own protection to appear at the town's Crown Court on Monday, May 9.
