Maidstone: Woman due in court charged with causing death of motorcyclist Fred McIlveen

A 30-year-old woman is due to appear in court this morning after being charged with causing the death of a motorcyclist in Maidstone.

Andrea Dagi, of Lancashire Road, Maidstone, will attend Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court today after she was charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving.

The charge relates to the death of Fred McIlveen who suffered serious injuries in the crash on Tonbridge Road, at the junction with Vine Mews, on October 13 at around 5.15am.

Fred McIlveen was seriously injured in October and died two weeks later.

Mr McIlveen, 60, was taken to Kings College Hospital where he died on Wednesday, November 1.

He worked for many years as a cleaner at Maidstone Hospital and was described by friends and colleagues as a “happy-go-lucky” man who “always had a smile on his face”.
