Woman hit by car

A woman, believed to be in her 60s, was rushed to hospital on a spinal board after being hit by a car in Maidstone town centre this afternoon.
The accident happened around 1.30pm by traffic lights on Tonbridge Road, outside Maidstone West station.
The incident, involving a black Ford Fiesta, was witnessed by a passengers on a packed Arriva bus.
The female car driver was questioned by police. The Air Ambulance was circling the area, but the injured woman was transported by road ambulance.Tonbridge Road remains open to drivers.
