Woman hurt in Cranbrook crash

A woman was injured after a car she was travelling in overturned and ended up submerged in a ditch in Cranbrook.

The accident happened at about 7.10am on the A262 Goudhurst Road.

Firefighters from Cranbrook and Marden were called when flames could be seen coming from the back of the car.

The vehicle's other occupant, a man, had already escaped the vehicle by the time arrived while cutting equipment was used to release the woman.

Both occupants were said to be in their mid 20s.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident and the woman was taken to Pembury hospital suffering from minor neck and back injuries.

Police closed the road at Whitewell Lane until 8.30pm.
