A MOTHER from Maidstone is in intensive care in hospital after she and her two children were involved in a road crash.

The woman's white BMW was in collision with a transit van at the traffic lights at the junction of Armstrong Road and Loose Road in Maidstone at about 11.35pm on Monday.

The woman’s condition is described as stable but she suffered serious head injuries. The driver of the van, from Tovil, was also taken to hospital with injuries.

The woman was trapped inside her car and had to be cut free by firefighters. Her 17-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter were not badly injured, according to the police.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
