A woman and two teenage girls have been arrested after a man in his 60s was assaulted in Maidstone.

The attack happened in Northumberland Road at 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The victim suffered a head injury that is not believed to be life-threatening and was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Pembury.

A 54-year-old woman, a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl were all arrested on suspicion of assault and have been bailed until Wednesday, December 14.

A police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing.
