Golfer Yvonne Gormley waited 10 years for a hole-in-one - then hit two on successive days.

Gormley, who plays off a handicap of 20, could hardly believe it when she aced the par-three 17th at Wrotham Heath Golf Club in a three-ball roll-up.

So you can imagine her shock when she repeated the feat the next day, this time on the par-three fifth, in a foursomes competition.

Gormley, who lives in Ditton, said: “I’ve had a foot from the pin before but never a hole-in-one. I was speechless after the first one - I couldn’t believe it.

“The second day was surreal. How can this happen twice in a row? But it did.

“I haven’t heard of two in a row before - I’m unique! That will be it for the rest of my life.”

Gormley started playing at West Malling Golf Club about a decade ago and has been a member at Wrotham Heath for two years.

It was husband Robert who got her into the sport.

She said: “It was nice to get two in a row but I don’t think my husband liked it!

“He’s been playing for years and never had a hole-in-one. I have mentioned it to him. He’s OK with it really.

“I took up golf to do something with him as the children got older. I got hooked and play in everything I can.

"I don’t play as much with him now, I play with my friends. He’s a better player than me. He plays off 11, I’m 20.”
